Future... I'm coming!

Today I am inspired... don't know why...
Maybe because it is Monday, the day we usually decide to change our rotine, makin' decisions like goin' to the gym, gettin' into a diet, or just thinkin' this week is goin' to be much better than the last one...
On the other hand, today is also the last day of a long weekend here... I'm just chillin' and thinkin' about my life, what is going to happen... Sometimes I think too much (lol)... but I like... I make plans, change my ideas...
As if I was an author of a novel I create the story of my life, owner of my destiny... I believe our daily choices draw our future... What makes me very happy cuz I'm able to change things... everything is possible...
It sounds like a fiction movie but it's REAL! Newspapers, books, reports and thesis often approach this subject... that, in fact, it is just a simple attitude...

Hoje estou inspirada... não sei porque...
Talvez porque seja segunda-feira, o dia em que normalmente decidimos mudar nossa rotina, tomando decisões como ir à academia, iniciar a dieta, ou apenas pensando que essa semana será bem melhor que a que passou...
Por outro lado, hoje também é o último dia do final de semana prolongado... Estou de bobeira, pensando na minha vida, no que irá acontecer... às vezes eu penso demais (hehehe)... mas eu gosto... faço planos, mudo as minhas idéias...
Como um autor de novela, crio a estória da minha vida, dona do meu destino... Eu acredito que as nossas escolhas diárias traçam o nosso futuro... o que me deixa feliz, pois sou capaz de mudar as coisas... tudo se torna possível...
Parece um filme de ficção mas é REAL! Jornais, livros, matérias e teses freqüentemente abordam esse assunto... que, na realidade, é apenas uma simples atitude...

I can't forget their faces... Their way to look at me as if we had met before. Their request for my lap as if I were their mom. I can't forget their laughs... Their smiles as if their lives were only happiness. Their hugs as if we could stay like this forever. I can't forget that moment... With so much love for a stranger. A tough moment to say goodbye. These words represent exactly what I felt yesterday, when visiting (for the first time) an orphanage. I thank God for this opportunity, showing me life just the way it is (or it should be). When I left, all I could remember was a big lesson - of happiness , hope and true love .

Changing your perspective

A few weeks ago there was this huge blackout in Brazil, caused by a technical problem in Itaipu dam, the second-largest hydroelectric power producer in the world ( Yahoo news here ). It was very weird and a bit scary to realize how dependent we are on eletricity. For hours there was no TV, no radio, no computer. Some cellphones weren't working and despite my notebook being ok, it seemed useless without internet. I was at home when it happened and I prayed for those people who were out of their homes at that time. I imagine how many of them were in the subway, in the elevator, at the office, alone on the street. I remembered people in hospital and all kinds of situation in which people are highly dependant on electricity. I took that time to think and I realized we should be always ready to live with little, even though the media keeps saying we need more and more, in this endless consumption world. What's the difference of being different?

Yesterday I felt like Shrek... not belonging to the world. I felt like a stranger and that made me feel really sad. But you know what? Today I see a positive side of it. I mean... what is the point of being like everyone? Being different doesn't mean, in the first place, being wrong. Being different means being yourself. How many brilliant and talented people have contributed to the world? Weren't they different? That's why they could make the difference.
