Sleeping beauty... the fair tale

Something has changed my life today...
It's almost like getting up after a long night sleep...
It's happened before, a few times, when I felt like getting nowhere...
Someone comes... and whispers something in my ears... or puts everything upside-down...
Taking me out of my comfort zone... bringin' me up to the newness...
One side of me is afraid... the other is fascinated about this changin' idea ... Lucky me, my brave side is stronger... so I come back to the battle, sure that in the end... I'll be a winner! Remember... if you haven't won the game yet, it is because it's not the end... :)

I wish I could keep writing... about people, connections, relationships... the reason why so many lives are transformed... but I must go now... it is time to dream... :)

Algo mudou a minha vida hoje...
É quase como acordar após uma longa noite de sono...
Já aconteceu antes, algumas vezes, quando me senti indo a lugar nenhum...
Alguém surge... e sussura em meus ouvidos... ou coloca meu mundo de cabeça pra baixo...
Tirando-me da zona de conforto... trazendo-me para o novo...
Um lado meu tem medo... o outro é fascinado pela idéia de mudar...
Sortuda que sou, tenho meu lado bravo mais forte... volto pra batalha, certa de que no final serei vencedora! Lembre-se... se o jogo ainda não está ganho, é porque não chegou o final... :)

Gostaria de continuar escrevendo... sobre pessoas, conexões, relacionamentos... a razão pela qual tantas vidas são transformadas... mas eu preciso ir agora... é hora de sonhar... :)

My testimony

I can't forget their faces... Their way to look at me as if we had met before. Their request for my lap as if I were their mom. I can't forget their laughs... Their smiles as if their lives were only happiness. Their hugs as if we could stay like this forever. I can't forget that moment... With so much love for a stranger. A tough moment to say goodbye. These words represent exactly what I felt yesterday, when visiting (for the first time) an orphanage. I thank God for this opportunity, showing me life just the way it is (or it should be). When I left, all I could remember was a big lesson - of happiness , hope and true love .

Changing your perspective

A few weeks ago there was this huge blackout in Brazil, caused by a technical problem in Itaipu dam, the second-largest hydroelectric power producer in the world ( Yahoo news here ). It was very weird and a bit scary to realize how dependent we are on eletricity. For hours there was no TV, no radio, no computer. Some cellphones weren't working and despite my notebook being ok, it seemed useless without internet. I was at home when it happened and I prayed for those people who were out of their homes at that time. I imagine how many of them were in the subway, in the elevator, at the office, alone on the street. I remembered people in hospital and all kinds of situation in which people are highly dependant on electricity. I took that time to think and I realized we should be always ready to live with little, even though the media keeps saying we need more and more, in this endless consumption world. What's the difference of being different?

Yesterday I felt like Shrek... not belonging to the world. I felt like a stranger and that made me feel really sad. But you know what? Today I see a positive side of it. I mean... what is the point of being like everyone? Being different doesn't mean, in the first place, being wrong. Being different means being yourself. How many brilliant and talented people have contributed to the world? Weren't they different? That's why they could make the difference.
