Tonight I have a concert to go, of a brazilian band called "Cidade Negra" (Black City).
I don't know much about music, thou I work in a radio station (lol)... but I'd say it is a mix of reggae and pop music...
I am a big fan of them... cuz more than a good melody, their songs have a wonderful message... also has a lot to do with my blog, so I will write down some verses for you...

Oba, hoje à noite vou ao show do Cidade Negra!
Não entendo muito de música, embora trabalhe numa rádio (risos), mas diria que a banda é um mix de reggae e música popular....
Sou uma fanzona deles... porque mais que uma boa melodia, suas músicas têm uma mensagem maravilhosa... além disso, tem tudo a ver com meu blog, por isso, vou escrever alguns de seus versos abaixo:

I can't forget their faces... Their way to look at me as if we had met before. Their request for my lap as if I were their mom. I can't forget their laughs... Their smiles as if their lives were only happiness. Their hugs as if we could stay like this forever. I can't forget that moment... With so much love for a stranger. A tough moment to say goodbye. Changing your perspective

A few weeks ago there was this huge blackout in Brazil, caused by a technical problem in Itaipu dam, the second-largest hydroelectric power producer in the world ( Yahoo news here ). It was very weird and a bit scary to realize how dependent we are on eletricity. For hours there was no TV, no radio, no computer. Some cellphones weren't working and despite my notebook being ok, it seemed useless without internet. I was at home when it happened and I prayed for those people who were out of their homes at that time. I imagine how many of them were in the subway, in the elevator, at the office, alone on the street. I remembered people in hospital and all kinds of situation in which people are highly dependant on electricity. I took that time to think and I realized we should be always ready to live with little, even though the media keeps saying we need more and more, in this endless consumption world. What's the difference of being different?

Yesterday I felt like Shrek... not belonging to the world. I felt like a stranger and that made me feel really sad. But you know what? Today I see a positive side of it. I mean... what is the point of being like everyone? Being different doesn't mean, in the first place, being wrong. Being different means being yourself.
