Amazing!

I am amazed with this fantastic world called Internet...
The more I get to know it, the more I love it!
It's like the earth without borders nor limits...
It's a free-media, where you have the opportunity to express yourself, contributing to the world... :)
I was just thinkin' how I would finish my post today... I could write a thousand things, all goods, about the internet... nice blogs, funny videos, good initiatives, creative people and so on...
But as I was writing this post, my friend Flavia made a comment to another post, called "my role in this world"... right after, one more from her and two from my friend Flavio...
Those comments called my attention, making me realize the amazing benefits inside an each simple blog like mine... and believe me, I am the lucky one!

Eu estava pensando agora como terminar meu post de hoje... Eu poderia escrever mil coisas, todas boas, sobre a Internet... blogs legais, vídeos engraçados, boas iniciativas, pessoas criativas e tudo mais...
Mas enquanto escrevia este post, minha amiga Flavia fez um comentário em outro post, chamado "meu papel neste mundo"... depois, mais um dela e dois do meu amigo Flavio...
Esses comentários chamaram a minha atenção, me fazendo perceber os maravilhosos benefícios existentes em cada blog simples como o meu... e acredite em mim, eu sou a sortuda!

Changing your perspective

A few weeks ago there was this huge blackout in Brazil, caused by a technical problem in Itaipu dam, the second-largest hydroelectric power producer in the world ( Yahoo news here ). It was very weird and a bit scary to realize how dependent we are on eletricity. For hours there was no TV, no radio, no computer. Some cellphones weren't working and despite my notebook being ok, it seemed useless without internet. I was at home when it happened and I prayed for those people who were out of their homes at that time. I imagine how many of them were in the subway, in the elevator, at the office, alone on the street. I remembered people in hospital and all kinds of situation in which people are highly dependant on electricity. I took that time to think and I realized we should be always ready to live with little, even though the media keeps saying we need more and more, in this endless consumption world. My testimony

I can't forget their faces... Their way to look at me as if we had met before. Their request for my lap as if I were their mom. I can't forget their laughs... Their smiles as if their lives were only happiness. Their hugs as if we could stay like this forever. I can't forget that moment... With so much love for a stranger. A tough moment to say goodbye. These words represent exactly what I felt yesterday, when visiting (for the first time) an orphanage. I thank God for this opportunity, showing me life just the way it is (or it should be). When I left, all I could remember was a big lesson - of happiness , hope and true love .

What's the difference of being different?

Yesterday I felt like Shrek... not belonging to the world. I felt like a stranger and that made me feel really sad. But you know what? Today I see a positive side of it. I mean... what is the point of being like everyone? Being different doesn't mean, in the first place, being wrong. Being different means being yourself. How many brilliant and talented people have contributed to the world? Weren't they different? That's why they could make the difference.
